Keeping Our Culture: Don't let it slip away

Hip Hop is the youngest of all the culture's right now, and as we know, historically every culture we create is eventually taken and manipulated to cater to mainstream America. Little Richard started Rock music, they stole that and said Elvis is the "king", we created Hip Hop and we can't let them take it from us. But we can already see it starting to change hands, the music has been changing for years now, you see us on TV "tap dancing" for them more than ever now. We may not realize it but the way we conduct ourselves and what we decide to except as the Hip Hop Community sets the precedent for what the record executive's decide the artists can sell. So think about this, a lot of us say Hip Hop is in a state of emergency, but how much of the responsibility is ours?
